woman arrested, accused of stealing from dozens of gyms | Washington News
EVERETT, Wash. (AP) – A Marysville woman accused of stealing and using credit cards at dozens of gyms in western Washington has been arrested.
The 23-year-old has been held in Snohomish County Jail in Everett for investigation into more than 55 charges, the Daily Herald reported.
Two people called police in March to report their belongings were stolen from two gyms in Marysville, prosecution documents show. The next day, a gym worker reported seeing an alert when the woman – who was suspected of theft from LA Fitness stores – scanned her membership card.
An investigation by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office found that she had stolen credit cards, car keys and bags from lockers, according to the charges. Law enforcement in King, Pierce and Skagit counties, as well as the Tulalip Tribal Police Department, have also had cases in which the woman was a suspect.
She was arrested earlier this month and told police there was a gun in a bag she stole, according to the charges. She was charged with theft of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm and two counts of second degree identity theft. She was jailed and released after posting bail.
But she allegedly used stolen bank cards on Wednesday to make purchases at Fred Meyer’s in Lynnwood and was arrested again, the charges said.
As of Friday afternoon, she was in jail instead of $ 417,000 bail.
